Antique French Terracotta Confit Jar with Ochre Drip Glaze

SKU: 10016

This late 19th-century French confit jar hails from Provence and features a beautifully aged terracotta body finished in warm ochre glaze with hand-applied vertical drip detailing. Traditionally used to store preserved duck or goose, it has classic looped handles and a wide, slightly flared mouth. Please note: there is a visible patched hole on the underside, filled with a putty-like material. This repair is stable for decorative use, but the jar is not currently watertight and would require restoration to safely hold liquid. Additional wear includes minor glaze loss, rim imperfections, and surface abrasions — all consistent with age and use. A soulful and rustic French accent with real character.
